Rhys has been growling lately at everything. We got some video of him doing just that and some of him playing with his new basketball from ESPN. Turn up the volume on the speakers for optimal growling. Before you say anything Nanny, yes the movies are dark, no we don't have more lights yet, yes we will buy some this weekend :)

Our fun weekend
Saturday we spent the morning at the financial planner figuring out how much Rhys is going to make us poor when he goes to college. We spent the afternoon washing Rhys' mouth out with Scope (very funny story but not blog appropriate) and then went out for a night in Annapolis with Vannah, Derek and Aiden. Aiden is a week younger than Rhys but their due dates were one day apart. We went to Jos, a japanese Restaurant that does NOT cater to little ones. No room to move, no changing tables, and no high chairs so we passed the bubs over plates of sushi and sashimi. The boys were good for the most part and we had a fantastic time. Vannah ended up wearing a beer, a glass of water and tons of baby food before the night was over but she was such a good sport! We got some great pics of the boys at the restaurant and then at Vannah's parent's house. They were so wonderful with Rhys and it was great to spend an evening with people our age that have a little one too.
Oh first Rhys had bacon for the first time saturday morning. Needless to say he's going to be a carnivor when he grows up. Uncle Pat better hide his piggies the next time we head to Brasher.
Here are the men with the boys getting them ready to brave the chilly Maryland night. The little ones were very well behaved and since neither really have much hair they got along b/c there was no pulling/grabbing.
There was plenty of food to be brought home and the waitress was oh so happy to box it up and get us the hell out of there. Also you can spot the other part of dinner: Rhys' bottle, puffies and Aiden's homemade babyfood.
Sunday we spent the day in Baltimore. First stop was Charm City Cakes for all of you food tv fans. Shannon with get a cake from Duff for his birthday. Then we made our way to the Baltimore Aquarium which was a lot of fun. This nice woman with a little one saw that we were a bit confused as to which line to get into for tickets so she asked if we'd like her 2 guest passes. SCORE! We got to see the dophin show where Rhys tracked the high flying antics of the stars of the aquarium.

After Rhys got his fill of looking a turtles and fishies, we had lunch at the ESPN Zone pub. Good food, tvs everywhere (even in every bathroom stall) and a pretty good sports apparal shop. We got Rhys a couple of football, basketball and baseball onsies. This was definately a Hopkin's kinda joint. :)
Once we were done for the day, Rhys took a 3 hour nap, woke up after he peed the crib and had his dinner nakie style.

More pics of the move
I've finally put him down for a nap so we're going to see how many pics I can post before he wakes up and wants to be entertained.
Too late, he's awake and grabbing at the computer. oh well....I found a bunch of cute pics we never posted so I'll try and keep them in order as we go down memory lane.
Holy momma...did I swallow a basketball? We later found out the bulk of that was Rhys' butt.

Here is our last day in San Jose. The apartment is empty and that is our little cottage that we brought Rhys home from the hospital to.

He's chillin our our empty bedroom before we headed over to the airport.
This is literally the entire place...small huh? :)
Nanny and Grandpa came down a week after we flew out here to help us unpack boxes. After a long day of working hard, we went to downtown Annapolis to thie AMAZING Irish pub, Galway Bay. Rhys loves his Nanny and Grandpa so much...he attacks Nanny's cheeks and tries desparately to get at Grandpa's 'shash.

Liar liar pants on fire
OK so mommy promised nanny that she'd post more cute pics of me but she got side tracked with unpacking boxes. I don't think nanny will find that as an acceptable excuse since I'm so cute and definitely take priority over silly boxes. When will mommy ever learn?
Mommy may be dropping the ball on posting but I'll keep up being adorable so that when she gets some time, I'll be ready to be photographed :)
lots of love, drool and super sloppy kisses,
rhys

The big move to Maryland
Hi all...sorry its taken so long to post but we've finally gotten settled into our new place. So far everything is going really well...job is amazing, apartment is very nice and Rhys had adjusted to the cold. He's got a great home daycare to go to and his carer, Ayumi is amazing. She talks to him in Japanese so he'll be able to chat with his Oma and Aunt Holly. We're still unpacking, have about 15 more boxes to go and I just wish they'd disappear but no such luck. The first 2 weeks here we slept on the floor so its nice to finally have our furniture :) Grandpa Leahy gave me the Almon clan's number so we could meet up with them. So far we've met Pam, T, Tim and Paula. They were sooooo much like my Leahy Aunts and Uncles, it feels just like home. Mom and Jay just visited us for a bit and boy did Rhys have a blast with them. He's taken lazy to a whole new level when they're around. Normally, we'll make a bottle for him and hand it over and he'll feed himself. This is not the case when his Nanny has possession of the bottle. He'll stick his hands down at his side and just lay there with his mouth open. The other aspect of his laziness comes when Nanny has a cheerio in her hand which we're trying to teach him "hand to mouth" feeding. She'll have a cheerio or two in her palm and instead of him reaching down and grabbing the cereal, he'll do a face plant into her hand with a wide open mouth and hoover whatever she's got.
We've got a new address and telephone numbers so let us know if you need them.
We've taken lots of pics so they'll have to come in batches. Below are the ones from Shannon's phone.
My two tired boys taking a nap in the loft.
This picture is proof that Rhys is SUPER lazy and can spot a sucker a mile a way. He is fully capable of holding his bottle but chooses not to if the right "person" cough cough NANNY is around.
Mom and dad took me furniture shopping and I'm clearly not having a good time.

Mommy look at me, I can roll all over the living room and there's nothing to get in my way!!! I know you put me on this blanket so you cook dinner but I have places to go and since I'm "mobile" I can do whatever I want.
Oma got me this really cool tummy time play mat and now that mommy and daddy have finally gotten their act together and pulled out some entertainment for me, I'm one happy camper.
Daddy and I are just chillin with the boxes watching the All-Star game.
